Family Wealth Conversations: Why Wealth Transfers Fail Webinar

Did you know that less than half of the American adult population cares about what happens to their money or family if they die or are incapacitated? Neither did I. In fact, my experience shows just the opposite.

According to an annual survey by Caring.com*, only 40% of adults have a will or Living Trust, but 76% of respondents say that having a will is important. So why is it that only 60% of survey respondents don’t have a will or trust?  The reasons are what you’d expect. 50% say they “just haven’t gotten around to it”

22% say “I don’t have enough assets to leave to anyone”12% say it is either “too expensive or they don’t know how to get started” find the 50% number most interesting.  When I just haven’t gotten around to something it usually is because of one of the following reasons.

1. I don’t know where to start

2. I feel overwhelmed by needing to understand every aspect of what I’m trying to do

3. Taking action is going to mean an uncomfortable conversation We’ve all seen it.  A lack of estate planning can wreak havoc on an individual’s loved ones should they become incapacitated or pass away.

To help alleviate this problem, we at Good Life Financial Advisors of NOVA have been writing on this problem on our blog: https://www.goodlifefinancialnova.com/blog.  We’ve had a tremendous response, and people want to know more.  So, we’ve decided to host two webinars to help people know where to start, and to understand what estate planning actually is.

Join us at one of the two sessions below where our guest speaker, Emily Dupree,* Director at MFS will be presenting “Family Wealth Conversations: Why Wealth Transfers Fail”. We’ll also be joined by Rebecca Evans, Esq.* a local estate planning attorney in Northern Virginia for a Q & A session.

To ensure we’re able to have enough time for questions, we’re limiting attendance for each session to the first 20 people who RSVP. These sessions will fill up quickly, so don’t delay, and claim your spot today.

We look forward to having you join us for this enlightening discussion!

If you’ve been waiting to get “a round to it”, when it comes to estate planning, this is for you. If you have someone you care about who has questions about estate planning, this is for them, please feel free to share this invitation.
